I was in Sam Austin’s office a couple of months ago and noticed a mock-up of what looked like a wire-frame turtle. He explained that he has always had an interest in turtles and that he wanted to make a handle for his office door that looked like a turtle. We decided that hammered stainless steel would be a good look. After a few iterations of design in SolidWorks we ordered some stainless steel plate to cut out the shape of the turtle. We used a CNC plasma cutter to cut out the shape of the basic turtle.  We also bought some stainless steel square stock for the handle. Brian Martella of Atomic Forge in Erie Colorado took the pieces and went to work hammering and forging the pieces until the turtle was complete.
